Iowans at the USTF Nationals

Athletes with Iowa ties put up impressive performances and finishes at USA Indoor Track and Field Championships, held this past weekend in Albuquerque.

Former Iowa All American, Big 10 Champion and school record holder, Erik Sowinski, won the 800M in 1:47.09!   Sowisnki set a new American Indoor record in the 600 2 weeks ago.  Tyler Mulder, UNI/Unity Christian, a former UNI NCAA Champion, was 3rd in 1:47.43.

  • Lindsay Lettow, DM Christian/Central Missouri,  D-2 National Champion, finished 3rd in the Pentathlon with 4301 points.
  • Lisa Koll Uhl, Ft. Dodge/ISU, 2012 Olympian in 10K, American Collegiate record holder in 10k, finished 3rd in 3K in 9:23.37.
  • Bethany Praksa, former Iowa All American, Big 10 champion and Iowa school record holder, was 3rd in the 800 in 2:03.57.
  • Christina Hillman, ISU, set a new school record with her 57’ 9 ¾” throw in the Shot Put.
  • Hillman’s  teammate, Hayli Bozarth was 7th in the Shot Put with a best of 51’ 7”.
  • UNI All American, Daniel Gooris, scored 5466 points for a 5th place finish in the Heptathlon.
