D2 Regionals News

D-2 Cross Country Regionals will be run across the nation this Saturday, November 3.  Also this Saturday are Conference championship meets for NAIA schools.   The NAIA qualifies to their National championships a bit differently than NCAA schools.  Thanks to Grand View Head Coach Jerry Monner for clearing up any questions with this detailed explanation.
The NAIA conference championship meets will be held this Saturday, Nov. 3rd.  (These meets also serve as the NAIA national qualifying meets).
  • *Each conference consisting of 6-11 teams gets an automatic team birth to nationals for their 1st place team.
  • *Each conference consisting of 6-11 teams also qualifies the Top 5 individual finishers not on a qualifying team (automatic or at-large).
  •  **The NAIA National Championships will be Saturday, Nov. 17th in Vancouver, Washington.
  • Midwest Collegiate Conference Championships (MCC):*Sat. Nov. 3rd at Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf, IA – hosted by St. Ambrose*Latest MCC Men’s ranking: 1st- St. Ambrose, 2nd – Mt. Mercy, 3rd – William Penn
  • *Latest MCC Women’s ranking: 1st – St. Ambrose, 2nd – Mt. Mercy, 3rd – Grand View
  • Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC): *Sat, Nov. 3rd at Adams Nature Preserve in McCook Lake, South Dakota
  • *Morningside men ranked #23 in the NAIA, Dordt men received votes in the national poll
  • *Dordt women are ranked #11 in the NAIA
  • Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC): Sat., Nov. 3rd at Graceland University in Lamoni, IA
