Iowans on Nationally Ranked Teams!

State of Iowa universities and other universities with former Iowa preps on their rosters dot the most recent D-1 Regional Cross Country rankings.
Iowa State women, with a number of Iowans on the roster, including returning All American Meaghan Nelson, CR Xavier, and Morgan Casey of NE Goose Lake, is #1 in the Midwest.  Washington women, led by Dowlings Katie Flood, has overtaken Oregon for the #1 spot in the West.
Other schools ranked in the Women’s Midwest region with former Iowa preps on their rosters:
#3-Minnesota-Ashlie Decker, Dowling Catholic.
#5-Northwestern-Erica Grubbs, Davenport Assumption.
#8-Missouri-Kate Maxcy-WDM Valley
#10-Bradley-Arden Betzer-Central City
#15-South Dakota-Josee Jansen-SC North
In the Mountain Region, Utah women are #6.  The Utes are coached by former Iowa preps, Kyle Kepler and Burke Bockman.  In the West Region, Washington, with Flood is #1.  Arizona State, led b y SWC East’s Shelby Houlihan is #4 and California, with Shaya Houlihan on the coaching staff is #9.
In the Men’s Regional rankings, Iowa State, has Pleasant Valley’s Charlie Paul among it’s leaders and comes in at #5 in the Midwest.  Missouri with Burlington’s JT McCarthy, is #6.  Iowa with Kevin Lewis, Ottumwa and Sam Chaney, Columbus Junction among it’s leaders is #9.  Drake, led by reigning MVC champion Brogan Austin, Boone, is #14.  Notre Dame, with Johnny Fuller, Glenwood is #3 in the Great Lakes region and Liberty with Charles City’s Isaac Wendland is #13 in the Southeast.
