The Drake University women’s cross country team turned in a second-place performance at the Oz Memorial Friday evening in its second race of the season.

It was a solid start to the season and this group has a great work ethic, so we’re excited about the upcoming meets.”

Taylor Scholl (Prior Lake, Minn.) was the next Bulldog across the line in 27th place in 23:41.49 withEmma Huston (Des Moines, Iowa) and Amanda Marwitz (Crystal Lake, Ill.) rounding out the scoring in 33rd and 43rd, respectively.

The host school, Minnesota, running on their home course at the Leo Bolstad Golf Course, won the event with 15 points. Drake’s 76 points were second by a large margin followed by Minnesota State Mankato, South Dakota State, UNI and Minnesota Duluth.
