XC Tidbits…

The University of Northern Iowa men’s and women’s cross country teams look forward to competing in their first meet of the season with the opening of the 4k Bulldog Classic on Fri., Aug. 31 at Ewing Park, located on the south side of Des Moines.
The double-dual meet will include both men and women competitions. The women’s race will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the men’s race at 5:45 p.m.
The UNI men will have experienced leadership this year with their top two finishers from the 2011 Championship, Brett Egan, Waukon, (12th) andRyan KrogmannNE Goose Lake, (42nd), returning for their senior campaign. Terry Nielsen, NU High, will also add experience to the trails.
The Panther women return five of their top seven runners from its 2011 team, with four of them being seniors (Hayley Thomas, Lindsey Wilkins, Scotti SchonWaukon, and Allison Fick, IC West).
Central College men are ranked #6 in D-3 rankings!  The Dutch also host a very good High School/College meet this Saturday on their dedicated course in Pella. CLICK HERE!  For meet info CLICK HERE!

Utah is ready to open the 2012 Cross Country season.  Utah is coached
by Head Coach Kyle Kepler, WebsterCity/UNI and Asst. Coach Burke

The University of Arkansas Men’s Cross Country team is favored to
defend it’s SEC title this fall.  The Razorbacks are coached by former
UNI Head Coach Chris Bucknam.  Bucknam is assisted by UNI graduates
and former Iowa preps Doug Case, Marshalltown, and Travis Geopfert,
